Sync and privacy
Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about what the desktop app reads, what the website receives, and how your conversations are handled. How does Loadout Legends work?
The desktop app detects supported character and gameplay information on your computer, turns the relevant results into structured records, and sends those records to Loadout Legends when website syncing is enabled. The website uses them to update your loadouts and supported community features.
Does my entire EverQuest log get uploaded?
No. The desktop app does not upload your EverQuest log file. Log processing happens on your computer, and unrelated lines are not included in normal sync data.
What about my private conversations?
Private tells and normal player chat are not part of the sync data. They are not sent to or displayed by Loadout Legends.
Are any log lines ever sent?
For certain raid leaderboard features, a limited set of lines identified as combat may be sent so a qualifying run can be reviewed. This is limited to supported combat activity; player chat and private messages are not part of that feature.
What information can be synced?
Depending on the feature you use, sync data may include your character and server, class loadout, equipment, inventory, stats, and supported gameplay results such as loot, kills, deaths, resists, and raid performance. Loadout Legends does not need your complete game log to provide these features.
Does the app upload old chat or my existing log history?
No. Starting website sync does not send your existing log file or past conversations. The app watches for supported gameplay activity while it is running and sends only the relevant sync results.
Can I use the app without uploading to the website?
Yes. Website syncing can be disabled in the desktop app. Local tools such as parsing and supported overlays can continue to work without sending website sync data.
How is synced data protected while it is sent?
The official app sends website sync data over an encrypted connection and uses a revocable device authorization associated with your Loadout Legends account.
Does the desktop app save my website password?
No. After sign-in, the app keeps a revocable sync authorization rather than your website password. You can disconnect the app or revoke its access from your account.
Is my synced information public?
Some information is intended for community features, such as item data, drop information, and eligible leaderboard results. Character profile visibility and account-specific controls are managed separately. Review your account settings before sharing a profile.
What happens when I send a bug report?
Bug reports are separate from normal syncing and are sent only when you choose to submit one. They can include your note and app diagnostic information needed to investigate the problem; they do not attach your entire EverQuest log.
How can I stop syncing or request deletion?
You can disable website syncing, disconnect the desktop app, or revoke a device from your account. For an account-data or deletion request, contact support@loadoutlegends.com from the email associated with your account.
